David Soul—beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother—passed away on January 4, 2024, after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family. He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist, and dear friend. His smile, laughter, and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.

I was really shocked when i found out that David soul is passed away i was a huge fan of his and a huge fan of Starsky and Hutch my sincere condolences to his family.R.I.P Mr. David Solberg aka David Soul.

I was shocked to hear about his passing. I loved his acting, but most of all his tender voice with his songs. I will remember him loving life, and his creativity. My condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed, even in Belgium.

IM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT DAVID’S PASSING. HE WAS MY CHILDHOOD GROWING UP. MY SISTER AND I WERE GLUED TO THE TV SATURDAY NIGHTS WATCHING STARSKY AND HUTCH, HUTCH WAS MY FAVOURITE, I HAD POSTERS ALL OVER MY BEDROOM WALLS. I’VE GOT ALL DAVID’S MUSIC AND IN 2003 I MET HIM, GOT HIS AUTOGRAPH AND HAD MY PHOTO TAKEN WITH HIM WHEN HE WAS DOING A STAGE PLAY CALLED DEATH TRAP IN MY LOCAL TOWN. My heart is broken. David has been such an inspiration to me for so many years. I have followed him through his successes and his struggles. His music and his acting have brought me such joy and still do today. His CD’s are now playing nonstop, unless of course I am watching the Starsky and Hutch DVD’s. I only wish that I would have had the opportunity to see him in concert. I am sending my condolences to his family and friends and pray that David is at peace in the arms of the Lord.

My dad was born in 1963, in Mexico City, he grew up watching Starsky and Hutch during the 70s, he has been a fan of the show throughout his life, he always had and still has a great admiration for Mr. David Soul, since he also lived in Mexico for a time and he was a friend of the Mexican people, my dad shared with my mother, my brothers and me his love for the series, we watched it from time to time, but during the pandemic we were able to see it in its entirety, from start to finish, We all admired the voice of Mr. Soul, for me Don’t give up on us, it is one of the most beautiful songs that exists in the English language, a classic that I hope continues to be transmitted to new generations, a song that should not be forgotten , a theme of love and hope, something that we should not forget while we live, because sadly life ends, my family and I feel sad to know that he has passed away, our condolences to his entire family, may the Lord help you get through the moment, and know that the great David Soul will not be forgotten, and his name will be remembered for many generations, I hope one day to have my own children and share his beautiful voice with them , and his beautiful music, God rest his soul, I will go back and rewatch Starsky and Hutch, I will be sad to remember that he is gone, but happy to remember that Kenneth Hutchinson is now with the good guys in heaven, no more bad guys for him.
My condolences to Mr. David Soul and his entire family. I was still following several episodes of Starsky and Hutch. A great actor and singer (I think of the song ‘Don’t give up on us’) who marked the mid-70s! David Soul forever!
condolences to David’s Wife & Children, i have been a Hutch/David fan since the age of 9, i had the pleasure of meeting David several years ago, it was a life long dream come true, David was such a great Actor, and a wonderful singer, my Mum loved Silver lady, she always said it was meant for her because it was released a week before her and my Dads silver wedding Anniversary, thankyou David for the wonderful childhood memories, the fantastic acting, and the wonderful songs
I grew up watching Starsky and Hutch. I was absolutely in love with Hutch( David). In true teenage crush style I had pictures of him all over my bedroom wall. I was obsessed. I was in the fan club and had the Starsky and Hutch magazine. I had his records ( still have) and went to one of his concerts in UK. I cried when the program finished He was a huge part of my childhood and I am very sad to hear of his passing. Sending my condolences to his family
I was so sorry to hear about your husband/dad. I actually met him at the studio cafeteria when he was filming starsky and hutch. My godmother was in the film industry and took us there. When I saw them from afar, I was star struck (7th grader). She did a loop over to them and the next thing I knew, he came up to me. I told him I was from Rock Island where his dad had taught at Augustana College. He gave me a kiss on my cheek when he left. I never wanted to wash it off. I was always impressed with his arts (music). Sending my condolences.
My partner Kevin and I are so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Soul and would like to send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends and to let them know that we are thinking of them.
We have such wonderful memories of watching Mr. Soul in Starsky & Hutch when we were children. As children you don’t realise the hard work that is involved in making a programme like that, especially for the lead actors. Now as adults we can really see and appreciate how hard he worked and what a dedicated, professional and really great actor he was.
When we heard of his loss we watched the Starsky & Hutch Pilot episode and it was wonderful to see Mr. Soul and Mr. Glaser creating the magic that is Starsky & Hutch.
We have always loved his music and I can remember singing ‘Don’t give up on us’ to the many posters I had of him all over my bedroom walls and ceiling!! I saw him in concert in 1980 and I must admit I did not hear much of the music as the moment he walked out onto the stage I was in total awe of him and couldn’t believe he was really there!! I still can’t believe I was lucky enough to see him in person, a memory that I will cherish.
My partner and I will remember him as someone who was a big part of our childhood with many happy memories of him acting and singing which we still enjoy today.
