David Soul—beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother—passed away on January 4, 2024, after a valiant battle for life in the loving company of family. He shared many extraordinary gifts in the world as actor, singer, storyteller, creative artist, and dear friend. His smile, laughter, and passion for life will be remembered by the many whose lives he has touched.

To his family my sincerest condolences to all. I’ve admired and followed his career since I was thirteen. To his wife Helen, I’m a widow twice now. Unfortunately time does not heal wounds, over time you learn to handle your grief. I’m very sorry for your loss

My heart breaks hearing of the passing of David Soul, another piece of my (heart) childhood gone. Starsky and Hutch is still one of my all time favorite shows. I loved David Soul in everything he did. Just a wonderful actor. One of my childhood crushes that lasted through adulthood. I’ve tried to keep up with him over the years, and I totally agree with him the film they made of Starsky & Hutch was terrible. I’m so sorry he was so sick, and although the thought of him not here anymore is sad, I’m glad he is not sick anymore. Still so handsome through his elderly years. I still have my 8×10 B&W photos from Starsky & Hutch, my brother brought back from California signed by David Soul. As David was my favorite. My brother was a Detective Sergeant in the 70’s, and he went to California to pick up a prisoner, Somehow he was able to get on the set of Starsky & Hutch and met Paul & David, and was able to watch some of the taping. He brought back the 8×10’s (4 of them) to me with one signed by David. SO many great memories, and ongoing joy of watching the reruns, Thank you David Soul, for all the entertainment and music you gave to us. You will forever be remembered, Thoughts and prayers for your family and friends. ❤️❤️
I am 24 and for the past 23 years of my life, David Soul has been a huge part of me. At the age of 3, I named my 2 goldfishes Starsky and Hutch. Hutch always was my favourite and I used to be so sure I’d marry him. My bedroom wall is still covered in posters of him now.
As I got older, I discovered other wonderful projects David was apart of. Including, Salem’s Lot and Star Trek and then I discovered he was a singer and my love for him increased even more and I didn’t think this was even possible! Silver Lady is my favourite song ever and brings me much needed happiness each and everyday and for this I shall always be greatful. The amount of times I put it on repeat is probably unhealthy, but his voice is the best. Plus, I earned myself the nickname Silver Lady because my family and friends have heard me playing it on repeat most days and they even sign my birthday cards with silver lady, rather than my actual name and I love it.
Words will never be enough to say how much David means to me. He was more than just a celebrity. He was and still is my Idol. I will love you always. Thanks for the best music and all the wonderful programmes I can continue to watch. I may never have had the pleasure to meet you in this life, but one day I will sing Silver Lady with you!
My thoughts and prayers go to his Family and Friends, including Paul Michael Glaser, who I know was the greatest best friend David could ever ask for standing by his side always.

Such sad news, I loved Starsky and Hutch and watched it with my family. It holds such fond memories and love the music too.
I recall seeing him learning lines in a pub in Hampstead many years ago, didn’t approach as he was fully submerged in the role he was playing.

My sincerest condolences. I have admired David since I was 13. To his wife Helen I do understand your pain. I lost my first husband on July 16th 2003. I lost my second husband July 1st 2023. They both made sure that I knew that I was loved. They both told me don’t worry if I forget their voice or their touch just remember that I was loved by them. When times are rough remember this

David Soul, A Heart-throb, Super-Star, Big Talent, Actor, Singer, idol and all round beautiful person. In our Memories he will always be. Wonderful memories of the 1970s when we first discovered his presence in movies and then as Hutch!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday evenings watching the detective series and his humour with Starskey! Paul Michael Glasses. He will forever be on our TV , live on in pictures, and the memories of our lives. A Beautiful Soul still is David.
Rest in Peace, David. Sincere condolences to Helen, his family and friends, and his team. He was my first tv crush, at 12 years of age, and I had his posters and pictures all over my bedroom walls. I loved Starsky & Hutch, and listened to his album until it was almost worn out! Luckily, thanks to dvds etc we can still enjoy Starsky & Hutch and other work he did, so he will never be forgotten. Thanks to his team, I was able to get a signed photo and he did a lovely video answer to my question. I will treasure it always. Much love.
