THE ORIGINAL MASKED SINGER

THE COVERED MAN

David first gained attention as the mysterious ‘Covered Man’ on several appearances on The Merv Griffin Show in 1967 in which he sang while wearing a ski mask and explained, “My name is David Soul and I want to be known for my music.”

As a singer / songwriter, David has recorded five albums (along with several compilation albums, too); the original albums are: 

David Soul (1976), Playing to an Audience of One (1978), Band of Friends (1980), The Best Days of My Life (1982), and Leave a Light On (1998). David had two Number One international hits: ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’ (1976) and ‘Silver Lady’ (1977), and has placed three others in the top 12 in the U.K.

With his band, David has toured extensively in the U.S., the U.K., the Far East, and South America, and has performed sold-out concerts at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, Radio City Music Hall in New York, The Sports Palace in Monte Carlo, The Festival Hall in London, as well as a Royal Command Performance to honor the Queen’s Jubilee 1977. In August 2008, David appeared in the TV talent show-themed television series called Maestro on BBC2.

The album reached #2 in the U.K. charts and spent over six months in the British charts. The album also hit #40 in the U.S. LP charts and #21 in Holland. ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’ reached #1 in the U.K., Australia, and America, and the Top Five in both Holland and Ireland to name but a few countries.
